Filip Drożdż is a cinematographer behind multi-awarded documentary and fiction films. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and, graduated from the prestigious National Film School in Łódź.
His films have been recognized in some of the top film festivals around the world, like Sundance (feature-length documentary competition), IDFA (Special Jury Award) , Locarno (Semaine de la critique), Camerimage (nominated for Golden Frog), HumanDoc (Grand Prix), Doc Against Gravity (Grand Prix). In 2024 his documentary film got Emmy International, as the first polish documentary ever.
His debut fiction film, a dark comedy entitled “A Night at the Kindergarten” was premiered on Netflix in December 2022.
Filip has been involved in numerous art and video-art projects, like Mission in Auroville, Ashes And Diamonds in Nollywood. He has also collaborated closely with Polish contemporary artists.
His main point of interest is exploration of the boundaries between fiction and documentary cinema, and finding new forms.
Filip is based in Warsaw, Poland. He enjoys working worldwide as this gives him opportunities to learn about different cultures and norms.
He is fluent in English and Polish, as well as conversational in Russian and Spanish.
